One of the first components of a GMAT prep course that students consider is price. Manhattan Prep offers students three different prep options, all varying in cost, format, and intensity. The three prep packages include:. This course gives you access to all of the online-only Interact content PLUS 27 hours of live instruction in-person or online. When you consider what makes Manhattan Prep different from other test prep companies, think video-based lessons.
The lessons are interactive, adaptive and just plain cool. The lessons start, stop, ask you questions, adapt to your knowledge on a subject, and are sprinkled with quirky little cartoons. Part of the reason these video-based lessons are so effective is that the video production quality is first-rate. It is abundantly clear Manhattan thinks that video is the future of test prep, as they have invested heavily in the quality and scope of these video-based lessons. A Manhattan Prep instructor appears onscreen frequently giving a quick verbal lesson on a subtopic while notes appear around them.
Then when the instructor is not onscreen, you are shown an aesthetically appealing digital whiteboard that illustrates a point or concept.
The overall quality is fantastic. I personally found that due to the unique way in which the material is conveyed, it really sticks with you. After watching a lesson on a certain topic, if I later came across a practice problem that touched on the same matter, my mind was drawn back to the video. It really improved my recall ability, so I tip my hat to the curriculum designers on that aspect. Not only is the delivery of the lesson remarkable, but the substantive content is as well.
Manhattan Prep has done their homework pardon the studying pun when it comes to designing their curriculum. The lessons span every concept that will be tested on the GMAT and are very detailed.
Not only that, the flow of the curriculum is natural and builds on itself, making for an effective means of learning. The material is thorough, well-structured and all-around dead on. The bottom line here is that the lessons are top shelf. Beyond the lessons, the remainder of the coursework is solid, though not as remarkable as the video lessons. Manhattan Prep provides access to over 4, questions through its practice question bank, which is comparable to the level of access offered by Kaplan.
While there was nothing truly special about them, I think that is a good indicator of a well-designed practice problem. Surrounding the practice problems, Manhattan Prep utilizes a program called GMAT Navigator to provide problem explanations and track your progress. This useful tool breaks down each problem and provides clear explanations of why a correct answer is correct and why an incorrect answer is incorrect.
Their video-based instruction is currently the pinnacle of digital content in the GMAT test prep space and should serve as a road map for other test prep companies as they upgrade their video lessons.
While the rest of the coursework, including practice problems and explanations, is nothing to write home about, I was not unhappy with any of these features and think they are above average. In addition to great digital content, including video lessons and practice problems, Manhattan Prep also provides hard copy prep books to all of its students.
These books include:. These books together make for a powerful prep resource. Combined, they cover overall test taking strategies, GMAT section-specific techniques and tricks, lessons on foundational principles, practice problems and more. Manhattan provides 6 CATs, while I solved only 3 of them. Now I am planning to attempt GMAT again to improve my overall score, and thus will be attempting the remaining Mocks again.
So, I've been using Manhattan for quite a while along with other gmat prep tests, such as Veritas, Gmatclub, gmatprep, kaplan, but I found Manhattan test to be more closer to actual gmat test. Their algorithm is quite unique, i really doubt if actual gmat uses same algorithm but for sure the test of test matches with actual gmat test I am a retaker , when it comes to verbal.
While for quant, there's a different story. Out of all the tests I've tried, I found manhattan quants level on slightly higher side. That's what i liked about these test that they prepare you for the worst. Try solving all 6 tests and use their analysis tool to analyse your weak areas.
It's really helpful. Thank you! Verified score: Q49 V31 Online. Manhattan CATs bundles comes with 6 cats. Questions arent repeated unless you reset the tests. The reset can only be done upon completion of all the 6 tests. TBH these tests give an accurate indication of the weaker areas and also to learn new concepts which may or may not have been touched upon during the prep phase.
Quants is way above the real thing and a q44 in mgmat can translate to a q48 or q Sometimes the language can get convoluted , but the quality of questions is excellent. These tests should be used as indicators to measure timing and weak areas and are not to be used to predict the scores , doing well on these tests will definitely mean that you'll do well on the actual gmat but again depends on the test day and the test conditions.
Mgmat CATs are a great resource to practice and learn. After reading a lot of reviews online, I decided to try Manhattan Prep tests.
And I did get what I was looking for. Manhattan Prep has a good mix of different level of questions. I especially liked their verbal - some really good questions in CR, which happens to by my weak area.
Quant questions were good, but when I compare them to GMAT Club tests, I prefer the latter since they are harder and helps prepare better. I am the guy who suffers from tremendous test anxiety so in my course of preparation to mitigate the effect of anxiety on my test score I decided to take as many mocks as I can. Specifically a tough ones, so I can build a confidence and can take real test confidently.
I have decided to buy Manhattan Prep mocks because of 2 reasons. To finish the test with majority of hard questions with in time is a challenge. I have completed 5 mocks, and so I am writing this review to recommend the CATs, because they have proved to be useful to me. Benefits I got: My time management got improved. Analysis they provide is also decent. It helped me to analyze my weaknesse. Only one drawback. After you will finish 4 mocks, from 5th mock you will get mixed questions.
If you are person who want to give many mocks then you should definitely go for it. Really helped me to get a sense of the GMAT exam and test functionality. Really thorough analysis of the test, Post test analysis is great and you get to know your weak areas with indetail information. But from my personal experience I would suggest Manhattan Prep CATs to really analyze your areas of improvement and your overall test perfomance.
I have also heard they are the closest to what actual GMAC Prep tests are and they are a good indicator of your performance on Real Gmat test. Main Forum. GMAT Quantitative. GMAT Verbal. BSchool Application Questions. Admitted - Which School to Choose? Forum Quiz - NEW! Error Log.
