Crush washer which direction

Crushwasher Not the best from an engineering standpoint, but has proven reliability. Start by making sure that the threads of the muzzle device and barrel are relatively clean, and free of dirt, carbon, etc. Place the crush washer over the muzzle threads, then thread the muzzle device up against the crush washer, hand tight. This is the torque value that will ensure the thread profile applies the correct range of compression to the muzzle threads. D-Fresh commented. The consensus from a quick google search seemed to be flat side of washer to machined surface of engine.

It don't matter. I think that speaks for itself. Lug Nut. Doesn't matter at all Not so with a spark plugs. The crush washer does not always sit flat on the plug if it is oriented wrong.

May be brand specific, so check both ways. Crush washers are hollow vs the solid copper ones some folks use. I change my oil every miles.

Have been for the last , miles. I have NO crunch washers on tank or motor drain plugs and have never had a leak. That is amazing you use no washers and no leaks! Horsehammerr commented. I guess it's just a Good Precise fit. Since Shores brought up a good point i wanted to post a pic of what i'm talking about. Some drain plugs just have a flat on both sides washer for the drain plug.

The part Yamaha gave me looks like the attached. It is not flat on both sides, not by a long shot. Originally posted by D-Fresh View Post. You're killing me Smalls! Latest Posts. This might not be the appropiate thinking, but someone would have to convince me otherwise to change my methodology. I'm with you and your reasoning on this one. As long as it works and cause no damage or just damages the FH I'm good. Quoted from Quib in the archives: Putting the crush washer on backwards does not provide the proper amount of surface area for the crush washer to properly seat.

There is a reason for the correct orientation. Fat out! I think we are all saying the same thing Cupped side out towards the FH. If so, done. I always try to keep the fatties out!!! Yes, we are saying the same thing. I had to go out to the garage to look at one. There is a fat end for out It is also the cupped end. Another video for you guys.
