I used my ps2 component cables with my ps3 and it worked fine. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they are the same. User Info: razorracer. Same here. I used the PS3 component cables on my PS2. Made a world of difference in graphical quality. Are you sure? Because the console end of the plug doesn't look like it would fit a ps2.
